The Travel Sketchbook
In this workshop, I will introduce you to the concept of the travel sketchbook as a fun way of recording places and experiences.
Small sketchbooks are a time-honoured way of documenting journeys, whether it's an overseas trip or your daily commute, making notes and testing ideas. In this workshop, I will show examples of my own sketchbooks and demonstrate techniques using water-based pens and watercolour wash, which can be used to produce quick sketches on the go or more detailed studies later. You will then create your own sketches, adding words and notations.
I am a practising artist who works in a variety of media. I studied at Walthamstow Art School in London, and my works are featured in collections across Australia, the UK and USA. Since 2011, I have travelled the world as an art instructor on cruise ships, including Viking. Cunard & Azamara.
This workshop is suitable for all levels of experience. All materials provided.
